Voluntary Short Term Disability

Disability insurance covers you in the event you cannot work due to injury or illness. Despite the fact it is the second most important part of the employee benefits package, research shows that only 45% of employees have short term disability.  However, 48% of all home foreclosures result from a disability. Most people believe the United States government is there to cover these situations. Unfortunately, this could not be further from the truth.

Short term disability plans can be either for short-term durations, normally up to 13 or 26 weeks or potentially go for 52 or 104 weeks. The plan designs are flexible with the trend towards longer waiting periods, and we will tailor your plan design around your company’s sick leave or PTO program.

Voluntary plans are normally offered in $50.00 increments and rates are based on age.  The employer generally picks the plan design and the employee selects the amount of coverage.

Coverage is available for Groups of 2 or more employees.
