Based on the benefits offered by your employer, you may select benefits based on your needs through payroll deduction. However, you must enroll within 31 days of becoming eligible to participate or you will either have to wait until the next open enrollment period or supply evidence of insurability that is satisfactory to the insurer to participate. If you have any doubt whatsoever, remember that it is ALWAYS easier to drop or terminate coverage than it is to add it at a later date.
